The Migration Institute of Australia joins The National Alliance for Regionalisation
The Migration Institute of Australia was one of 30 representative bodies who today attended the launch of The National Alliance for Regionalisation, represented by Anke Nagle, MIA Director and Chair of the MIA Regional Migration Committee.
The Regional Australia Institute established the National Alliance for Regionalisation to better position Australia’s regions in reaching their potential. The National Alliance brings together migration, business, health, education, infrastructure and environmental representatives.
While each member organisation of the National Alliance has its individual policy priorities, it will work collectively to progress issues of commonality – such as regional migration, worker shortages, housing, regional education.
Following the launch of the National Alliance today, the founding organisations will form working groups to examine and advocate for the removal of barriers that prevent regional Australia from becoming an equal partner with urban Australia in building this country’s economy and future.
The Migration Institute of Australia has long advocated for the removal of barriers and the encouragement of regional migration as a strategic enabler in maintaining and growing Australia’s regional economies.
The Migration Institute of Australia looks forward to providing its expertise to this unique alliance that will take a multidisciplinary approach to representing the needs of regional Australia.
