Educator of the Year Award

 

This award recognises outstanding contribution to the MIA CPD and Education program over the past 12 months. This award formally acknowledges the experience, capabilities, and efforts required to make a positive impact in the migration profession through education and training. 

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this award, nominated individuals must meet the following criteria:

  • Have presented for the MIA in 2025 or 2026

Selction Criteria

Selection for this award is based on the nominee meeting some or all of the following:

  • Good Character and Professional Behaviour
    Demonstrates exemplary character and professional conduct.

  • Positive Reputation Among Peers
    Has earned a strong reputation among MIA members, supported by peer endorsements.

  • Subject Matter Expertise
    Displays a deep understanding and expertise in their presented subject matter.

  • Exceptional Presentation Skills
    Exhibits excellent presentation skills, including delivering valuable insights, incorporating new ideas, and showing thorough preparation.

  • High-Quality CPD Creation
    Creates high-quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD) content, including new material and innovative topic suggestions.

  • Versatile Presentation Experience
    Regularly presents on a range of topics, demonstrating versatility and broad knowledge.

Nomination Process

To apply for the Educator of the Year Award, follow these steps:

  1. Download: Download the nomination form here.
  2. Nominate: Complete the form as a self-nomination or third-party nomination.
  3. Submit: Email your application to [email protected] by the closing deadline of Sunday, 19 July 2026.
  4. Late submissions will not be considered.

Selection Process

  1. After the submission deadline, nominations will be reviewed and assessed by an expert panel based on the eligibility and selection criteria.
  2. Successful nominations are then submitted to the MIA Board for consideration and resolution.
  3. Nominees will be notified of the results.
