The Migration Institute of Australia, in conjunction with the Migration Agents Registration Authority, is pleased to announce a new service for Registered Migration Agent members. The Agent Registration Card is a credit-card sized card that provides evidence that you are a Registered Migration Agent and MIA member. The card is designed for ease of identification when you are not at your place of business. The card may be useful when needing to identify yourself as a Registered Migration Agent, including at DIAC offices in Australia and at Australian missions overseas. This is important as DIAC officers are increasingly asking RMAs for identification. The card will include your colour photo, migration agent registration number (MARN), name and provision for your signature. On the back will be other information such as your MIA member number, whether you are an immigration law specialist, or an Australian Legal Practitioner. Cards for MIA members will be distinguished with a gold border. The first card is free, but additional cards will cost $12 each. How do I get a card? If you would like to view a sample of the card and/or request one, please click here. The MIA will then process your request with the MARA. How long will it take to get my card? The MARA advises that, depending on the level of demand for the cards, the initial distribution of the cards may take two to four weeks. But subsequently cards will be issued with your certificate of registration, if you indicate that you want one on your application for registration. |
