Mentoring

The Migration Institute of Australia offers a variety of mentoring programs to its Members across Australia. Please find below a brief description of the various programs on offer.

Beginner Courses

The 2011 CPD program includes Beginner level courses run online via our Private Study system and in some states. These will cover all you need to know to get your Migration business up and running and develop fundamental knowledge of Skills Assessment and Partner Visas. Upcoming beginner courses are being held in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Please check the MIA website for more information.

New South Wales, Victoria & Western Australia

Group mentoring sessions have been a success in these States and are currently being planned for 2011. These courses involve regular meetings with senior practitioners to discuss current issues in migration law and practice.

Please note the WA Mentoring Program is still being planned.

South Australia

Mentoring sessions in South Australia, titled the SA MIA New Member Induction program includes 8 sessions, run fortnightly and covered general migration practice issues, use of Legend Com and specific issues raised by the practitioners.

SA Mentoring Program has been announced and will run from every other Tuesday commencing 16 August for 8 sessions.

Queensland

Full day mentoring sessions are held throughout the year in Queensland covering practical aspects of 3 mandatory sessions: File Management; Business Management; & Ethics & Professional Practice. The day also involves a tour of DIAC and a question and answer session.
