| The MIA, in conjunction with Deakin University
conducts a distance education course Immigration Law for Migration Agents.
The course is conducted three times per year with examinations held in November, February and June. As this is a distance education course, a student can be anywhere in the world. A course tutor is available to assist students (usually by email) and students are able to be involved in study groups and tutorials, depending on the number of students in a location. Course tutors are registered practising migration agents. After enrolments close, you will be provided with a Student Handbook that will answer many of the questions you have about Distance Education studies and who can assist you throughout the course. The Student Handbook also provides details of the required references for the Course and how you can obtain them. The Migration Institute of Australia has negotiated discounts for the Butterworths Immigration Law Service and the LBC Immigration Law CD Rom for students enrolled in this course. PLEASE NOTE: All MIA Deakin Course Immigration Law for Migration Agents students must have access to the Migration Act 1958, Migration Regulations 1998, Migration Agents Registration Application Charge Act 1997 and Migration Agents Registration Application Charge Regulations 1998.
