DIAC has increasingly promoted migration to "regional Australia" by allowing Regional Certifying Bodies to certify who they would like to bring in, and by placing State and Territory Sponsorship through the subclass 176 and subclass 886 visas as a priority. This has resulted in an extraordinary number of State and Territory Skills Shortages Lists and varying systems and requirements for certification. This seminar will discuss the requirements for onshore and offshore provisional residency, including what options exist for a permanent residency for onshore qualifying visas such as the popular Working Holiday Visa and Occupational Trainee Visa. The MIA will invite State and Territory representatives and DIAC to speak to practitioners.
